Due to increased service demand we have an exciting opportunity for an additional Senior Occupational Health Nurse to join our well-established in-house Occupational Health team. The team provides a SEQOHS accredited Occupational Health Service to Council employees and external contracts, based in Meadowfield, Durham. Durham County Council is the largest Council in the North-East and has over 16,000 employees, in a broad range of employment groups.

The role is full of variety and ideally suited to an ambitious individual, who is looking for an exciting opportunity in a supportive and forward-thinking service committed to promoting and maintaining the highest standards of employee health and wellbeing.

What Is Involved?

Deliver a full range of Occupational Health services including pre‑employment assessments, sickness absence consultations, health surveillance, occupational immunisations, and workplace assessments.

What Will I Need?
  • RN / RGN / RMN qualification and NMC recordable Occupational Health Nursing qualification (recorded on Part 3 of the NMC Register) or equivalent Occupational Health qualification to diploma/degree level.
  • Experience of working in an Occupational Health Nursing environment.
  • Knowledge and understanding of relevant, current nursing codes of practice and guidance from professional nursing bodies.
  • Good level of verbal and written communication skills.
