The conference and events manager will work on developing, coordinating and ensuring the timely and successful delivery of our events portfolio. Events are delivered mainly online, consisting of one-day workshops/conferences, three-day qualification courses and in-house training. We also currently run an annual two-day residential conference and two one-day events on-site in the West Midlands.

Working as part of a small team, and reporting to one of the company directors, the role will involve liaising with content developers for each event, assisting in developing new courses/certificates, arranging venues, corresponding and liaising with speakers/tutors and students and, for the certificated courses, liaising with our academic partners and certifying bodies. The role involves working using Zoom and other similar online events software to run events and attending on-site events to ensure their smooth running.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, coordinate and ensure timely and successful delivery of our events portfolio.
  • Deliver mainly online events (one-day workshops/conferences, three-day qualification courses and in-house training) and manage on-site events as needed.
  • Liaise with content developers, speakers/tutors, students and academic partners and certifying bodies for certificated courses.
  • Arrange venues and coordinate with external partners and internal teams to support event delivery.
  • Operate online event platforms (e.g., Zoom, Slido, Teams or alternatives) and attend on-site events to ensure smooth running.
Requirements / Qualifications
  • Experience delivering high-quality training courses and events.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills with ability to manage external relationships.
  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and ability to deliver to strict timetables.
  • Experience using online event delivery platforms (e.g., Zoom, Slido, Teams or alternatives).
Location and working pattern

Location: This is a hybrid role based in Barnet, with on-site work at approximately three events a year (these are currently held in the West Midlands). The role will be completely office based for the first two months. After this, one day a week can be based at home and the remainder in the office. It is preferred, but not essential, for the successful candidate to be able to travel and stay overnight at two to three events a year. Although this is a part-time role, you will be required to attend our events, including virtual events, which may involve working extended paid hours on those days, either from the office or onsite. It may also involve occasional flexibility over specific working days (if events are scheduled on your regular non-work days).

Part-time: 3.5 days a week (flexible working pattern, e.g. five shorter days or 3.5 full days)

Remuneration
  • Salary: £40,000–£47,000 pro-rata
  • Holiday: 25 days pro-rata
Other requirements

Applicants must also be able to show that they have the right to work in the UK. References will only be requested after a conditional job offer is made.
