An excellent opportunity has arisen for Hospital Porters to join a busy and fast-paced hospital environment. This role is ideal for someone with a strong care background who is compassionate, reliable, and able to work efficiently under pressure while supporting patients and hospital teams throughout the day. Fully enhanced DBS on the update service is preferred but not essential.

The Role:

  • Transporting patients safely using wheelchairs, beds, and trolleys
  • Moving medical equipment, supplies, and hospital goods as required
  • Managing post, deliveries, and waste collection/disposal including clinical waste
  • Supporting hospital staff with additional duties when required
  • Providing reassurance and excellent customer service to patients and visitors
  • Ensuring all tasks are carried out efficiently and professionally
  • Working within hospital health & safety and hygiene procedures

The Requirements:

  • Previous care or healthcare experience is essential
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in sensitive situations
  • Good organisational and time management skills
  • Able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Physically fit, as the role involves extensive walking up to 20 miles per day and manual handling
  • Comfortable dealing with challenging or upsetting situations
  • Fully flexible to work a variety of shifts including weekends
