Yard Operative Supervisor – Salary –39,572.00

We at Work Lyf group are recruiting for a Yard Operative Supervisor in the waste industry for our client based in Stoke-on-Trent. The primary role of the Site Supervisor is to successfully oversee the efficient running of the Site activities which includes a mobile plant, RDF plant and up to 15 operatives over two shifts. Additionally, the Site Supervisor will be responsible for Health and Safety on site as well as quality control for material.

Key responsibilities and duties

To ensure that the level of housekeeping is maintained to the highest standard.

Ensure that traffic flow on site is safe and efficient so that vehicles can access and egress site quickly

Control stock of all material to ensure that there is no build up

Ensure that there is no contamination of recyclable material before it is loaded.

Ensure that any non-compliant wastes are identified, recorded, and processed in line with company policy

Ensure that all staff adhere to the correct safety protocols

Be adaptable within the team covering absence and different roles if required

Lead the team alongside the Site Manager with a positive and safety minded culture

Being an enthusiastic and approachable mentor for all team members

Identifying training needs and challenges within the team and reporting to the site manager

Key Skills

Previous experience in a similar role and environment is essential

Must be able to drive a grab/bucket/forks

Competent in providing a professional approach at all times when interacting with all members of staff and customers.

Appreciation of confidentiality and discretion

Strong organisational skills with attention to detail and a methodical approach.

The ability to communicate clearly and confidently with a range of people

Strong teamwork skills are essential

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
