We at Work Lyf Group are seeking a proactive and versatile Maintenance Engineer to join our clients team in the Meir area. This hands-on role involves maintaining and servicing a range of industrial machinery, including beam saws , edge banding machines , and other woodworking equipment. Youll play a key part in ensuring smooth operations, minimising downtime, and supporting production efficiency. Responsibilities of the Maintenance Engineer Carry out routine maintenance and emergency repairs on beam saws, edge banders, and related machinery Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults and implement effective solutions Support production teams with technical expertise and rapid response to breakdowns Maintain accurate service records and comply with health and safety standards Participate in an on-call rota until 8:00 PM for urgent support needs Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to improve equipment reliability Skills & Experience of the Maintenance Engineer Proven experience in a multiskilled engineering role (mechanical/electrical) Familiarity with woodworking machinery, especially beam saws and edge banders Strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities Ability to work independently and manage time effectively Relevant engineering qualifications or apprenticeship preferred Qualifications of the Maintenance Engineer NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (desirable) Apprenticeship in engineering or manufacturing (preferred) Valid UK driving licence (advantageous) Benefits – Maintenance Engineer A supportive working environment Access to an onsite canteen and shower amenities Standard benefits including pension scheme, holiday allowance, and training opportunities Stable weekday hours with structured on-call support
