Job Description Pay: £40,000.00-£45,000.00 per year \n Job Description: \n HGV Mechanic / Technician \n Location: Stoke-on-Trent \n Job Type: Full-time \n Salary: £40,000-£45,000 per year (dependent on experience) \n About the Role \n We at Work Lyf Group are recruiting on behalf of our well-established, family-run client who operate a large and varied fleet. They are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled HGV Technician to join their team. \n This position is ideal for someone who is knowledgeable, professional, and committed to delivering high-quality workmanship. \n Key Responsibilities \n \n Carry out routine safety inspections on HGVs \n Complete pre-MOT preparation and rectify defects \n Perform emergency and breakdown repairs as required \n Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults and carry out effective repairs \n Work flexibly and remain calm under pressure, including occasional overtime during busy periods \n Undertake welding and fabrication tasks (desirable but not essential) \n Maintain compliance with DVSA standards and company maintenance procedures \n Keep the workshop and work areas clean, tidy, and safe \n Accurately complete job cards and all associated paperwork \n Follow all company rules, regulations, and health & safety requirements \n \n Requirements \n \n Minimum 2 years' experience working with HGVs \n Strong understanding of health & safety practices \n Ability to work independently and as part of a team \n Good diagnostic and problem-solving skills \n C+E licence preferred but not essential \n Welding/fabrication experience beneficial but not required \n Commitment to maintaining high standards of workmanship and compliance \n \n What's on Offer \n \n Competitive salary (£40k-£45k depending on experience) \n Supportive, family-run working environment \n Opportunities for overtime during peak periods \n Long-term job security within a stable business \n Potential for training and development \n \n If you're a motivated HGV Technician looking for a role where your skills are valued and your work makes a real impact, we'd love to hear from you. \
