The role involves providing high-quality, non-medical care and companionship to older people in their own homes during evening hours. Care Professionals support clients to remain independent while building trusted and meaningful relationships. Visits last a minimum of one hour to ensure personalised care.
Duties:
- Provide companionship and engage clients in conversation and activities
- Support clients with attending appointments and social outings
- Carry out light housekeeping tasks, including cleaning and laundry
- Prepare meals and follow good food safety practices
- Assist with personal care, including bathing, dressing and grooming
- Support clients with continence care and daily routines
- Understand and respond appropriately to the needs of clients with dementia or Alzheimer’s
- Ability to communicate clearly and build positive relationships
- Respect for people from different backgrounds and beliefs
- Reliable, organised and an excellent timekeeper
- Good personal hygiene and professional appearance
- Willingness to obtain an Enhanced DBS disclosure
- Access to reliable transport or own vehicle with Class 1 business insurance
