The Opportunity

Work & Class is an independent creative communications agency on a mission to make better work that connects to real people in real communities across the UK. At just two years old, they’ve already been named PR Moment Best Newcomer Agency and PRWeek Best New Agency (silver), with their founder recognised as one of Marketing Week’s biggest changemakers for driving better working-class representation across the industry. Despite their size, they consistently punch above their weight, producing standout work for some of the biggest names across charity, arts, culture and purpose-led brands, including Sky, Mountain Warehouse, Motability Foundation, Booker Prize Foundation, Youth Music, Big Issue, Greenpeace and icelolly.com. Their work is rooted in earned-first thinking, but stretches across creative, content and social to build stories that reach people where they are. With some exciting new wins landing, Work & Class is now looking for an experienced Account Manager or Senior Account Manager to help them through their next phase of growth.

The Role

As AM/SAM, you’ll take day-to-day ownership of a portfolio of clients spanning charity, arts, culture and purpose-led brands, working into an experienced Senior Account Director and supported by a Senior Account Executive. You’ll develop PR and earned media strategies, build and manage media relationships, and help shape content and social outputs. A lot of this work sits at the intersection of creativity and representation, so they’re looking for someone who genuinely understands audiences, spots cultural tension, and knows how to build stories that resonate. This role is ideal for someone who wants to make a genuine impact through work that matters, while helping shape the next chapter of a fast-growing, purpose-led agency.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Day-to-day account management across multiple clients, working into a Senior Account Director and supported by a Senior Account Executive
  • Developing PR and earned media strategies and ideas as part of wider campaigns
  • Writing press releases, media materials and campaign copy
  • Building and managing media relationships
  • Identifying reactive opportunities and cultural moments
  • Supporting campaign delivery from idea through to execution
  • Helping shape content and social outputs where needed
  • Keeping projects moving smoothly and clients feeling supported

What They’re Looking For

  • 4–5 years’ experience in PR, communications or integrated agencies, already operating at AM or SAM level
  • Strong earned media instincts and proven media relations experience
  • A sharp writer who can adapt tone quickly
  • Organised, proactive and calm under pressure
  • Comfortable juggling multiple projects and deadlines
  • Strong cultural awareness and a genuine interest in representation, class and audience insight
  • Excited by work that can have real social impact
  • Able to think beyond the London bubble
  • Experience across charity, arts, entertainment or purpose-led brands
  • Experience working on audience-first or insight-led campaigns

They welcome applicants from working-class backgrounds as well as those from Black, Asian, Mixed Race, and other minority ethnic backgrounds. All candidates are considered on merit.

What’s On Offer

  • Flexible, hybrid working – just 1 day a week required in the London office
  • Open to part-time and flexible arrangements, to support accessibility, caring responsibilities, and disabled and neurodivergent candidates
  • A varied portfolio of brilliant, purpose-led clients, including Sky, Motability Foundation, Booker Prize Foundation, Youth Music, Big Issue and Greenpeace
  • Genuine potential to move from freelance/FTC into a permanent role

Work & Class is built by a growing team of people from working-class backgrounds, doing work designed to represent communities too often overlooked, stereotyped or misunderstood.
