We seek subtitlers to join a dedicated team working on content for one of the world’s largest online streaming clients. In this role, you’ll translate, subtitle and QA Audio Visual Trailer assets inline with client‑specific guidelines. We’re hiring native speakers of the following languages:

  • Tamil
  • Telugu
  • Croatian
  • Slovakian
  • Traditional Chinese for Hong Kong
  • Estonian
  • Latvian
  • Kazakh
  • Khmer
  • Mongolian

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Subtitling & Translation of AV Trailers
  • Translate actor dialogue in a trailer conforming to visual and technical specifications and deliver as an SRT.
  • Translate on screen text.
  • Translate and suggest forced narratives (a text overlay that communicates plot pertinent, on‑screen information).
  • Translation of text for Key Artwork and Digital banners.
  • Quality Assurance of completed subtitling that was carried out by other freelancers.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Native fluency in one of the above languages
  • 5 years of subtitling experience
  • Experience with Subtitle Edit
  • High level of English
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Able to respond quickly to feedback

BONUS

  • Familiarity using Jira, an asset management tool.
  • Can provide a portfolio or samples of your work

SEASONAL WORK & WORKLOAD

Theatrical work is seasonal with high volume throughput expected in the fourth and first quarter. This aligns with major awards and film festivals. During this busy season, we request you be available to work on a minimum of two titles per week. This work is fast‑paced, often with a 24‑hour delivery deadline. Prior to beginning work, you’ll agree upon the amount of work you have capacity for on an ongoing basis. We have an upcoming large wave of work starting in May/June.

RATES

Our rates for this project are calculated as flat fees per asset, designed to provide fair compensation across the body of work.

  • TEP (Translation and QC combined) – Teaser: $60
  • QA – 30/15‑second/Teaser: $10
  • QA – Full Trailer: $25
