Purpose of the Role:

Alongside our busy Cricket schedule, we have a thriving functions and hospitality offering, with a broad range of rooms and facilities available to cater for any function for up to 250 guests. Reporting to the Head of Hospitality, the Event Operations Manager will oversee the operational delivery of all match day and non-match day hospitality and catering events across the venue, ensuring exceptional customer experience, efficient staffing and seamless coordination between front-of-house, catering, and event teams. The role requires a proactive and hands-on individual who can lead from the front, maintain operational standards, and uphold the club’s reputation for professionalism and attention to detail.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the operational delivery of all match day and non-match day hospitality and catering events.
  • Manage event staffing, including rotas, shift allocation, and casual staff coordination.
  • Ensure high standards of customer service and event presentation across all hospitality areas.
  • Liaise closely with chefs and kitchen teams to ensure smooth food service delivery.
  • Conduct staff briefings and supervise front-of-house operations during events.
  • Support bar operations where required, assisting with service delivery and event coordination.
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety, food hygiene and licensing regulations.
  • Assist with staff training, development and performance management.
  • Coordinate event setup, turnaround and breakdown activities.
  • Act as a key operational contact during events, resolving issues professionally and efficiently.
  • Work collaboratively with hospitality, sales, and cricket operations teams to deliver successful events.
  • Support the Head of Hospitality with operational planning and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements Person Specification:

  • Previous experience in hospitality, catering or event operations management.
  • Strong organisational and people management skills.
  • Hold a personal licence.
  • Experience managing rotas and casual event staff in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and manage multiple operational priorities.
  • Strong understanding of hospitality service standards and event delivery.
  • Knowledge of food hygiene, health & safety and licensing compliance.
  • Flexible approach to working hours, including evenings, weekends and match days.
  • Passion for delivering outstanding customer experiences within a sporting or events environment.

You will need to have the Right to Work in the UK or be able to independently obtain this by the start date. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer visa sponsorship for this role.

Benefits Hours, benefits and salary:

This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week over 5 days. This will include working evenings and weekends on a rota basis. The salary is £35,000 per annum.
