Worcestershire County Cricket Club is one of the 18 major county cricket clubs which make up the England and Wales Cricket Board. We play to the highest level of professional cricket with a history stretching back over 155 years. Our vision is to become Worcestershire’s premier destination for live sports, entertainment & hospitality, whilst providing great experiences for everyone who comes to New Road. We are passionate about our people and strive to make our working environment a welcoming and inclusive one, fuelling ambition with opportunities and support to help our people achieve their personal and professional goals. Our values of Trust, Inclusiveness, Kindness, Resilience and Togetherness resonate across everything we do at the Club and define our culture and behaviours.
The Board of Worcestershire County Cricket Club is seeking to appoint a new Non-Executive Director. The Club is looking to welcome an additional Non-Executive Director to its Board, which is made up of the Chair, Chief Executive Officer, and a number of Non-Executive Directors representing a broad range of professional expertise. Following a review of the Board’s current skills matrix, the Club is particularly interested in candidates with experience in Commercial, Marketing, or Property and Real Estate. Strengthening the Board in these areas is expected to bring valuable insight and support to both the Board and Executive team. The successful candidate will be an established leader within their field. While an interest in cricket or sport more generally would be beneficial, it is not essential. The Board meets approximately eight times per year, with meetings typically lasting around two hours. There is also one full Board strategy day per year, usually in the Spring. In addition to these scheduled meetings, the role may involve providing ad hoc advice and support to the Board and Executive as relevant matters arise.
The Club is committed to encouraging applications from individuals of all backgrounds. In line with our values and the ECB County Governance Framework, we particularly welcome applications that enhance gender and ethnic diversity, supporting our ongoing development in this area. Worcestershire County Cricket Club is dedicated to ensuring equal opportunities for all current and prospective employees and volunteers and to eliminating unlawful or unfair discrimination based on protected characteristics.
