This is a once in a generation opportunity to shape the future of local government in Worcestershire. The work delivered over the next two years will set the direction of services for decades to come. While the Government's final decision on the preferred model is still pending, the scale and pace of change mean the transition starts now.

We are seeking an exceptional system leader to lead the Local Government Reorganisation (LGR) programme across all seven Worcestershire authorities. This is a high-profile, complex role requiring strategic leadership, political awareness and outstanding influencing skills.

You will work across organisational and political boundaries to build consensus, maintain momentum and drive delivery. You will translate ambition into action by developing a clear, deliverable roadmap to the new authority or authorities, and ensuring robust programme management drives progress and accountability throughout.

Experience of leading large scale, complex transformation programmes will be essential. Engagement will be critical to success. You will work closely with senior officers, elected members, partner organisations, staff and trade unions and ensure residents remain at the heart of the transition. Your focus will be to maintain confidence, minimise disruption to services, and ensure the benefits of reorganisation are realised.
