The supervised family time service is a crucial part of the Children's Social Work Service in Worcestershire. This service enables the local authority to fulfil its duties and responsibilities to promote contact for children with their birth family and friends. For some children, the provision of a supervising facilitator is essential to ensure that time with family and friends is a safe and positive experience.

We want to build capacity and flexibility to the current good practice of our supervising family time service which will enable us to extend support to children who require this service. We also want to bring more flexibility in our service in order to meet the needs of children and young people, their carers and their families.

Who are we looking for?

First and foremost, we are looking for people who are enthusiastic and committed to supporting children to have positive experiences with family and friends. You should have good communication skills and have the ability to quickly build relationships. Some experience in working with children and young people and their families is important.

We are looking for someone to work flexibly Monday to Friday and one in four Saturdays. Operating hours are 8am-8pm Monday-Friday and Saturdays 9am-5pm. This is a County wide service and on occasion requires travel outside of County.

Great Holiday Entitlement: As well as bank holidays, you’ll get 26 days paid holiday (pro rata for part-time staff). This goes up to 31 days when you have been with us for 5 years. If you get more than 26 days where you work now, don’t worry because if you join us without a break, we’ll match your holiday up to 31 days.

Brilliant Pension Scheme: The Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) is a nationwide, career average pension scheme and is a valuable part of the pay and reward package for employees working in local government.

Professional Learning & Development: We actively encourage learning and development for all our staff should they want to progress further or explore other areas within the organisation.

Flexible Working: We are proud to offer hybrid working to provide a better work/life balance where possible.

Equality & Diversity: The County Council is committed to equality of opportunity for all citizens and celebrates the diversity of all its residents.
