Specialist weight management dietitian full time (flexible working considered) Band 6 (will consider recently qualified band 5 to train up to Band 6 as a training post)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a specialist dietitian to join our team with two other dietitians and a part-time psychologist in the Tier 3 service. The post is based at Worcester Royal Hospital and includes clinics at Redditch and Bromsgrove.

Some clinics will be virtual. We are a forward thinking and proactive Dietetic department of 22 dietitians working within specialty teams. We have a GLP-1 pathway.

The post holder is a key member of the weight management MDT, and we work closely with the bariatric dietitians, bariatric nurses, psychologist and surgeons.

Experience of weight management work and behaviour change approaches is desirable as are excellent interpersonal, communication skills and collaborative teamwork. Enthusiasm and commitment are essential.

Main duties of the job

1The successful applicant willwork as a specialist dietitian in the department within the weight management service with a special interest in Tier 3 weight management. You will work as part of the multidisciplinary medical and bariatric teams providing an effective specialist weight management service. The role willcover out-patient clinics/groups during times of leave.

The job purpose:

  • To work as a specialist dietitian in the department within the Weight management service with a special interest in Tier 3 weight management.
  • Work as part of the multidisciplinary medical and bariatric teams providing an effective specialist weight management service.
  • To provide cover for out -patient clinics/groups during times of leave.
  • To assist with data collection and audit.

The job summary:

  • Working as an experienced autonomous practitioner, to provide a high standard of patient focused care through specialised assessment.
  • To plan and deliver a high quality service to patients working in conjunction with the multi-disciplinary team.
  • To offer dietetic skills and expertise to complex patients.
  • To contribute to the Therapy Clinical Governance agenda to further improve the quality of the service.
