An exciting opportunity has arisen to cover a head and neck oncology caseload at part time with 19.75 hours per week.

We are a department of 26 dietitians working across our two general hospital sites. Our experienced team contributes to national dietetic specialist groups, publishes articles and presents at the BDA research symposium/clinical conferences. We actively encourage audit and service development, and offer supervision programmes, CPD, and regular team meetings. You will be involved in student training as we offer University of Worcester A, B, C student placements.

Main duties of the job:

  • To work as an experienced autonomous practitioner providing a high standard of patient-focused care through specialised assessment.
  • To plan and deliver a high-quality service to oncology patients working in conjunction with the multi-disciplinary team.
  • To assist with student training and their supervision and contribute to the Therapy Clinical Governance agenda to further improve the quality of the dietetic service.
  • To assist with the day-to-day planning, co-ordination, monitoring, evaluation and delivery of the dietetic service to oncology patients.

Job responsibilities:

  • To provide and develop a countywide dietetic service to oncology patients.
  • To provide dietetic expertise on nutrition support for oncology patients to improve nutritional status and quality of life.
  • To act as a specialist resource on nutrition for medical and nursing staff in the Oncology Centre and for patients and carers.
  • To provide education and training to patients and carers and to the health professionals on the role of nutrition in oncology.

Person Specification:

  • Experience: Essential experience of adult dietetics working with people who have cancer.
  • Qualifications: Essential dietetic degree.
