Job Title:

Specialist Clinical Physiologist (Neurophysiology) | Pay Band: Band 6 | Contract: Permanent | Location/Department: Neurophysiology

Key Relationships:

Patients, carers, clinical and non-clinical staff, and other professional organizations.

Job Purpose:

Provides unsupervised specialist Neurodiagnostic investigations to patients of all ages with neurological or psychiatric disorders, attending the department and across non-dedicated environments for Worcestershire Hospitals, surrounding community trusts, and GPs.

Main Duties:

  1. Monitor and maintain high standards of Neurophysiological services, initiating remedial actions when necessary.
  2. Collaborate with professionals and agencies to meet healthcare needs.
  3. Lead and support junior staff, participate in training, and manage administrative duties.
  4. Plan, report, and interpret a range of neurophysiological investigations.
  5. Perform EEG investigations, nerve conduction studies, EMG, evoked potentials, and other modalities across all age groups.
  6. Maintain and troubleshoot equipment, ensure safety and compliance, and provide emergency services as needed.
  7. Contribute to education, training, clinical governance, and audit processes.
  8. Participate in research, development, and service improvement projects.

Qualifications & Experience:

Relevant neurophysiology qualifications and experience in performing a variety of neurophysiological investigations.
