We are looking for an enthusiastic Senior Leader with excellent leadership skills to be responsible for the strategic and operational function of learning support provision within the College. They will play an important role in advising the Principal on the development of SEND policy and provision within the College.
As a member of the senior leadership team, the Senior Leader for SEND will participate in the formulation and implementation of college strategy and policy in all matters relating to learning support and SEND. They will oversee the learning support team, with day-to-day responsibility for the operation of SEND policy and the co-ordination of specific provision for individual students, including those with EHC plans.
The Senior Leader for SEND will also provide professional guidance to staff across a range of college functions and will liaise closely with parents and external agencies. The role is full-time full year, but the College is happy to consider a substantial part-time post.
The successful candidate will also form part of the Safeguarding team and support with the caseload of complex child support and safeguarding matters.
Worcester Sixth Form College has 1800 full-time 16-19 students and an excellent reputation for its results, extra-curricular provision and support for students. The College is rated Ofsted good (2023) and is part of the Heart of Mercia Multi-Academy Trust (MAT) which was formed on 1 April 2019 and delivers post-16 education in Hereford, Stourbridge and Worcester. The MAT has an annual budget of over £30m and serves the needs of more than 6000 students across the region.
