JOB DESCRIPTION
The Humanities and Arts Department at Worcester Polytechnic Institute has an immediate needfor adjunct WR faculty who could teach a course on Writing about Science and Technology in Winter 2026 from January 15 to March 7, 2026.
Beyond this immediate course need, possible future courses for adjunct teaching may include college writing; medical and biomedical writing; technical and professional communications; rhetoric and visual design; and integrated skills in English for international students. WRfaculty teach introductory courses,intermediateseminars, andadvancedtopicpracticums andseminars.
We are looking for outstanding scholars, but successful candidates mustalsodemonstrate teaching excellence and versatility as well as an abilityto jumpintoanexisting curriculum with creative and critical pedagogical approaches.Experience working with international students and students whose language is not English is essential.Asuccessful candidate should hold a PhD inin Professional/Technical Communication, Writing and Rhetoric, or related field.
