Part-time adjunct faculty pool in Theatre to fill opportunities on a course-by-course basis as need arises.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Humanities and Arts Department at Worcester Polytechnic Institute is regularly seeking part-time adjunct faculty to teach Theatre courses and practicums. In addition to participating in department productions, theatre faculty teach introductory courses, intermediate thematicseminars, and practicums. WPI’s theatre program produces at least four productions a year and offers instruction in dramatic literature,playwrighting,acting,directing,dramaturgy, technical theatre, andtheatricaldesign.

The ideal candidate is a practicingscholar/artist who has professional and collegiate directing, acting, design, or technicalcredits and has strong connections to current scholarship and artistic trends in theater and live performance.Asuccessful candidate must also demonstrate teaching excellence and versatility as well as an ability to jump into an existing curriculum with creative and critical pedagogical approaches. A successful candidate should hold a terminal in theatre or a related field.

Submitting an applicationthrough this part-time posting will place you in an applicant pool to fillTheatreadjunct faculty positions on an as needed basis. Specific topics and start dates will vary over the academic year.

Applicants should submit the following:

–cover letter that addresses relevant expertise and experience
