Due to internal promotion and expansion of the kitchen team, Worcester College is seeking a passionate and skilled Chef de Partie to join our skilled and dedicated kitchen team. We pride ourselves on delivering high-quality, diverse cuisine for a wide range of occasions from daily meals for our students and Fellows to prestigious banquets, conferences, and special events.
In this key role, you’ll be responsible for the preparation and production of food to the highest standards across our kitchens. You’ll have the opportunity to lead sections, mentor junior chefs, and occasionally take full charge as the duty chef, ensuring excellence in food quality, hygiene, and safety. You’ll be joining a supportive and collaborative team in a stunning 26-acre setting in central Oxford, with modern facilities and a long-standing culture of culinary excellence. Staff are requested to work in a way which reduces their environmental impact and uses resources effectively. This includes commitment to the College Environmental Sustainability Policy, and Procurement and Purchasing Policy.
What we’re looking for:
- Relevant professional qualifications (e.g. City & Guilds 706 1/2, NVQ, or equivalent experience)
- Strong experience working across different kitchen sections, ideally in a busy, high-volume environment
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
- Confidence working independently and as part of a team
- A flexible, reliable approach and willingness to develop your skills
- Excellent cooking skills across larder, pastry, sauce, and vegetarian dishes

- With effect from January 2026, this role attracts an annual skills allowance of £1,750 per annum (subject to deductions and subject to ongoing review)
