The club currently operates across multiple age groups and competitive levels, including:

  • First Squad - FA Women’s National League (Tier 4)
  • Performance Squad U21s - West Midlands Regional League (Tier 6)
  • Performance Squad U18s - Central Warwickshire Girls Football League

As the club continues to grow, we are seeking a passionate, motivated and highly committed Physiotherapist or Sports Therapist to support the development and wellbeing of players within our Performance Squad pathways.

This exciting role involves leading the delivery of injury prevention, assessment, treatment and rehabilitation services, while promoting player welfare and supporting the long-term development of young female athletes.

Working within a progressive and ambitious women’s football environment, the successful candidate will collaborate closely with coaching and medical staff and receive ongoing support from the club’s Head of Medical and First Team Sports Therapists. This is an excellent opportunity for a practitioner looking to gain valuable experience in football and contribute to a growing player-centred performance programme.

The role includes evening training sessions, weekend fixtures and the chance to play a key part in the continued growth and success of Worcester City Women FC.

The successful candidate will lead and deliver high-quality performance support services for the club’s U18 and U21 performance squads. The role will focus on injury prevention, assessment, treatment, rehabilitation and player welfare within a developing talent pathway environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the respective squads but will work under the guidance and oversight of the club’s Head of Medical and 1st team Sports Therapists who will provide ongoing support, mentorship and clinical direction where required.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • BSc or MSc in Physiotherapy or Sports Therapy
  • Current professional registration and/or membership (HCPC, SST, BASRaT or equivalent)
  • Appropriate professional indemnity insurance
  • Valid FA IFAiF certificate (willingness to obtain L2)
  • FA safeguarding and DBS clearance
  • Knowledge and understanding of injury prevention, rehabilitation, risk management and return-to-play frameworks within football or sport
  • Strong communication, organisation and interpersonal skills
  • Strong clinical reasoning and hands-on treatment skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Previous experience working within football or sport environments
  • Previous experience with pitch-side emergency care
  • Previous experience working with female athletes and youth player development and awareness of specific considerations
  • Committed to diversity, inclusion and the growth of women’s football

Commitment

The role will primarily involve:

  • Evening training sessions (Tuesdays/Thursdays)
  • Occasional additional performance or club commitments
