We are excited to offer you the opportunity to join our Quality team as a Quality Technician!

Working in our Metrology lab, you serve an important role by supporting the manufacturing and production engineering departments by monitoring and controlling the quality of manufacturing processes and products.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Working with existing teams, fulfilling the common goals of attaining product compliance to specifications in a lean and effective production environment.
  • Carrying out Initial Sample Inspection Reports (ISIR).
  • First principles metrology - inspection measurement planning.
  • Programming (Polyworks software) & operation of a Mitutoyo Co-ordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) and Faro Arm.
  • Conducting capability studies evaluating and reporting the results.
  • Carrying out Statistical Process Control (SPC).
  • Conducting Process Audits.
  • Conducting follow up Audits, securing and verifying corrective actions.
  • Application of problem solving tools and techniques, 8D, 4D, PSS and control of non-conforming products.
  • Compliance with and application of Quality Management Procedures in accordance with ISO9001.
  • Other general quality engineering duties as necessary in support of the production environment.

Our ideal candidate must have:

  • Computer literacy, Microsoft Office.
  • Highly self-motivated and flexible.
  • Good diplomatic communication skills - Team Player.

Our ideal candidate should have:

  • Experience in use of Metrology equipment.
  • An ability to interpret technical drawings.
  • Knowledge of Problem Solving and Preventative Quality Tools and Methods e.g. 8D & FMEA.
  • Knowledge of Capability Indices, data collection, calculation and analysis.
  • Qualification in an engineering discipline.
  • Minimum 4 years' experience in an Engineering Quality role.
  • Experience in Copper pipe manufacture, Press work and Paint processes.

Working Hours: Annualised hours across Monday to Friday with a daily shift start time of 6am. You are required to flex your working hours from 24 - 45 hours per week in line with the department's annualised hours working pattern.
