Woolmer Hill School is seeking a motivated, organised and reliable Science Technician to support our thriving Science Department from September 2026. As a Science Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth delivery of practical science lessons by:

  • Preparing materials and equipment for experiments
  • Supporting teachers in delivering engaging, hands-on learning
  • Maintaining laboratory equipment and ensuring safe working environments
  • Managing and organising resources and chemicals
  • Supporting health and safety compliance (including CLEAPSS and COSHH guidance)

You will also assist with administrative tasks, maintain stock, and contribute to the overall efficiency of the Science Department.

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Organised, proactive and detail-oriented
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Confident following health & safety procedures
  • A strong communicator with a positive and flexible attitude
  • Committed to continuous professional development

Essential requirements:

  • GCSEs (Grade 4/C or above) in English, Maths and Science (or equivalent)
  • Good practical and organisational skills

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in a school or laboratory setting
  • Knowledge of COSHH, CLEAPSS or lab safety procedures
  • First Aid or relevant technical qualifications
