Our small, friendly village primary school sits at the heart of its community, and the smooth running of our school office is vital to ensuring that pupils, families and staff receive the very best support every day.

We are seeking an experienced Attendance & Administration Officer who will join us in this new role.

We are seeking candidates who pride themselves on their professionalism, warmth and efficiency.

Working closely with the School Business Manager and the administrative team to help with the smooth running of the school administration - from daily operations and compliance to supporting safeguarding processes and managing key school systems.

In a one-form-entry setting, this is a hands-on role where your impact will be visible, valued and central to the life of the school.

This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a varied role, enjoys building strong relationships, and takes pride in creating systems that help a school community flourish.

Key aspects of the role will include

  • Maintain school administrative procedures in line with statutory and Local Authority guidelines
  • Monitor and accurately record daily pupil attendance.
  • Identify and follow up on patterns of absence or lateness in line with safeguarding procedures, and report concerns and trends promptly to the Headteacher.
  • Be part of the day-to-day running of the school office, ensuring a welcoming and efficient front-of-house service
  • Manage pupil data, attendance processes and statutory returns
  • Support the School Business Manager with financial transactions and other administrative tasks
  • Prepare and monitor risk assessments for school trips and activities
  • Support safeguarding administration, ensuring accurate and confidential record‑keeping
  • Ensure effective use of the school's MIS and administrative systems
  • Provide high-quality administrative support to the Headteacher and Teaching Staff
  • Previous experience working in a school office
  • Experience with Arbor & other school online systems
  • Experience with Attendance & managing it within a school
  • Strong MS Office skills including Excel, Word, Powerpoint etc.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise in a busy school environment
  • GCSE A-C or equivalent in English and Maths
  • A calm, professional manner and a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
