Deputy Head Housekeeper - The Ickworth

Contract: Permanent

Salary: Β£27,563 Per Annum plus generous service charge and great benefits

Nestled within 1,800 acres of stunning National Trust parkland, the beautiful Ickworth Hotel is now seeking a motivated and dedicated Deputy Head Housekeeper to join our brilliant team. If you are passionate about ensuring guest comfort and maintaining impeccable standards of cleanliness then this is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the success of a luxury hotel known for its exceptional service and welcoming culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Head Housekeeper in managing and supervising the housekeeping team, ensuring they adhere to the hotel's standards and procedures.
  • Oversee the cleaning and maintenance of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces to ensure they are immaculately presented.
  • Train and mentor housekeeping staff, providing guidance on best practices, health and safety and customer service.
  • Coordinate with other departments, such as front of house and maintenance, to fulfil guest requests and address any issues promptly.
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure quality control and compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Assist in ordering supplies and maintaining stock levels.
  • Handle guest enquiries and complaints professionally and efficiently, striving to exceed guest expectations.
  • Collaborate with the Head Housekeeper to develop and implement innovative initiatives to enhance the guest experience and streamline operations.

What we are looking for

  • Previous experience in a supervisory role within a housekeeping department, preferably in a luxury 4 or 5 star hotel.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Knowledge of housekeeping and maintenance procedures, health and safety regulations.
  • Knowledge of managing rotas and payroll and some experience in ordering and managing stock.
  • Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering outstanding service.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills, working to tight timeframes, enjoying a physical job role.
  • Ability to engage and interact with all guests, big and small!
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle challenging situations with professionalism.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
  • A positive attitude and a passion for hospitality.
