Yeovil dog walkers: self-employed, your own prices, real local demand
Last week someone in Yeovil was searching for a dog walker and WoofWalk, a UK booking app for dog owners, could not offer them one within ten kilometres. So we are opening the town to up to three self-employed walkers, ideally spread between Preston Plucknett, Houndstone, Abbey Manor and the Wyndham Park side, with Ninesprings and Yeovil Country Park for the walks themselves.
There is no wage attached to this and no guaranteed bookings either. What you get is a route of your own: your prices, your days, your area. Owners find you in the app, book and pay there, and the fee goes straight to your bank.
What do walkers charge? Looking at about 200 WoofWalk listings in October 2026, an hour's solo walk was priced between £12 and £28, with £18 the most common figure. We quote that for context only.
Fees, plainly stated: joining costs nothing, your first 14 days carry no commission, then it is 15% per booking, falling to 10% for good once five of your own clients have signed up. Clients you introduce pay the lower 10% from their first booking. You are responsible for your own tax, National Insurance and insurance.
Tell us your area, your days and your price and we will write a draft profile for you to check. Already walking locally? Bring your existing clients and run bookings, payments and GPS-tracked walks from one app.
You must be over 18, happy out in Somerset weather, and willing to meet each owner and dog first.
