Sheffield dog walker, self-employed: hills, woods and your own prices
Sheffield has more green edge than almost any English city, and no WoofWalk walker yet. We would like three to start, covering the south-west around Ecclesall and Endcliffe, the north and the east.
WoofWalk is a UK app where owners book a local person to walk or look after their dog. You are self-employed on it. You decide your prices, your available days and hours, and which bookings to take; owners book and pay through the app and the money is paid out to you. There is no wage and no guaranteed work. It is your business, run through our app.
Public listings in Sheffield show hour-long solo walks at £18 to £26 and group walks at £15 to £20, with home boarding around £35 a night. We do not set your rate; our start page has a calculator so you can see what you would keep.
Graves Park, Endcliffe Park, Ecclesall Woods and Meersbrook Park are where walks happen, with the Peak District a bus ride away for anyone offering longer hikes.
Costs: joining is free. Your first 14 days have no commission, then WoofWalk keeps 15% of each booking, and 10% for life after five clients have joined through you. Tax, National Insurance and insurance are your own.
Suits students with free mornings, shift workers and anyone already out with a dog of their own. Over 18.
