Newtown and Montgomery, Powys: self-employed dog walker, your own round in the Severn valley
An owner near Montgomery asked a local group for a dog walker within the last fortnight and WoofWalk, a UK app where owners book and pay local walkers, had nobody within twenty-five kilometres. We are looking for up to three self-employed walkers in the Severn valley: Newtown, Montgomery, Abermule, Kerry and Llandyssil, with the Montgomery Canal towpath, Dolforwyn Woods and the Kerry Ridgeway close by.
It is self-employment: no wage, no guaranteed bookings. You run a small walking business of your own inside the app, and the prices, the days and the patch are entirely yours. Owners book and pay in the app and the money arrives in your bank.
A guide to the going rate: about 200 WoofWalk listings in October 2026 charged £12 to £28 for an hour's solo walk, with £18 the usual. Rural Powys may differ; you decide.
The terms are short. Free to join. No commission for your first 14 days. Then 15% of each booking, falling to 10% once five of your own clients have joined, and clients you bring yourself pay 10% from their first booking. You arrange your own insurance and deal with your tax and National Insurance yourself.
