Maidstone dog walker, self-employed, Mote Park and the villages
Maidstone is our only Kent listing so far and has no WoofWalk walker yet. We want three, covering the town and the villages around it, and we would like one of them to be someone who can reach Bearsted and the Weald side.
WoofWalk is a UK app through which dog owners book a walker or sitter near them. You are self-employed: it is your own business, with your own prices, hours and bookings. Owners book and pay in the app; the money is then paid out to you. We do not employ you, there is no wage and no promise of work.
Maidstone prices from public listings: half-hour walks £8 to £15 (about £12), an hour around £20, group walks £16 to £22, home visits around £11, home boarding about £30 a night. Those are the going rates, not ours.
Mote Park, Whatman Park, Cobtree Manor Park and White Horse Wood Country Park take most of the walks. The borough's dog control order allows four dogs per person, or six for registered professional walkers, so group walks are capped accordingly.
Terms: free to join. No commission for your first 14 days, then 15% of each booking, then 10% for life once five clients have joined through you. Tax, National Insurance and insurance are your own business.
A car helps here more than in a big city. Over 18.
