Coventry dog walker, self-employed, three starter places on WoofWalk
Coventry is a city we want to open properly rather than tick off: there is no WoofWalk walker here yet and we are looking for three, one for the south around the War Memorial Park, one for the north and one for the east out towards Coombe Abbey.
WoofWalk is a UK app for dog owners who want to book a local walker or sitter. You are self-employed on it and run your own small business. You set your prices, you set your hours, and you accept or decline every booking. Owners book and pay through the app, and the money is paid out to you. We do not employ you, there is no wage and we do not promise bookings.
Local rates from public listings: around £13.50 for a half-hour walk, £15 to £25 for an hour (typically £20), group walks £10 to £15, drop-in visits £6 to £15, home boarding about £33 a night. You set your own; those are what other walkers charge.
Coventry's dog control order, in force since August 2024, limits a person to six dogs at a time, which is more generous than most cities and matters if you plan group walks.
The money: nothing to pay to join. No commission at all for your first 14 days, then 15% of each booking, and 10% for life once five clients have joined through you. Tax, National Insurance and insurance stay your responsibility.
This suits someone with a car or a bike and a few free hours in the middle of the day. Over 18.
