Aberdeen: self-employed dog walker and home boarder wanted on WoofWalk
Aberdeen has no WoofWalk walker yet, and our research found only two home boarders listed for the whole city on the main sitter site, so there is a real gap for anyone who can offer overnight care as well as walks. We are looking for three people.
WoofWalk is a UK app that connects dog owners with someone nearby who walks, visits or boards. You are self-employed: you decide your prices, your days and hours and your bookings, owners book and pay through the app, and you are paid out. We do not employ you, pay no wage and make no promise of work.
What the market looks like here, from public listings: half-hour walks £7 to £30, mostly around £15; home visits about £14.50; home boarding £15 to £25 a night from the two listed. You choose your own figures.
Duthie Park, Hazlehead, Seaton Park and the beach are the main grounds. The council's fixed penalty for not clearing up is £80, rising to £100 if unpaid, so bags go everywhere you do.
Terms: free to join. Your first 14 days carry no commission, then 15% of each booking, dropping to 10% for life once five clients have joined through you. Tax, National Insurance and your own insurance are down to you.
Offshore rota workers with two or three weeks at home at a stretch suit this well, as do students. Over 18.
