A NHS 111 Integrated Urgent Care Clinical Advisor will be responsible for assessing callers, triaging, and ensuring appropriate care. The role is a demanding but highly rewarding career with a strong emphasis on high quality patient care and continuous professional development.
Location & Contract
Full‑time, part‑time positions available (minimum 24 hrs per week). The role is office based at Bicester (Northern House, Talisman Business Park, OX26 6HR). Permanent contract.
Salary & Benefits
Band 6 (£38,682 – £46,580 per annum, pro‑rata). Unsocial hours allowance, NHS Pension Scheme, occupational health support, NHS discounts in 200+ stores, and enrolment into the NHS Pension Scheme.
Main Duties
- Clinically access patients via telephone, triage symptoms and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (health advisors, nurses, paramedics, mental health practitioners, pharmacists).
- Call patients to ensure the right care in the right place the first time.
- Communicate effectively and remain calm under pressure.
- Use the NHS system and maintain accurate records.
Person Specification – Essential
- Registered general nurse (RN1, RNA) or Specialist Practitioner or Paramedic.
- Valid registration with NMC/HCPC.
- Recent professional experience, triage experience, and customer service experience.
- Experience dealing with emotionally charged situations.
- Good level of computer literacy and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
Desirable
- Previous experience in a call centre environment such as NHS direct.
- Supervisory/coaching/mentoring experience.
- Teaching or assessing qualification.
- Motivated towards further professional development.
- Understanding of clinical governance and audit practices.
- Flexible working approach.
Training & Development
9‑week full‑time training programme (fully paid). Dedicated in‑house education team, Pathways qualification, continuous professional development opportunities within SCAS and the NHS.
