We are looking for a dedicated Health Advisor to work part‑time nights at South Central Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust in Milton Keynes.
Job Summary
As an NHS 111 Health Advisor you will handle a wide variety of calls each night, providing information, reassurance and practical support. The role demands emotional resilience and the ability to manage high‑pressure situations, often involving mental health, minor injuries or medical emergencies.
Key Responsibilities
- Support callers experiencing mental health crises.
- Reassure parents with minor head injuries.
- Address mild symptoms such as sore throat or toothache.
- Respond calmly to acute medical incidents such as stroke or heart attack.
- Use NHS 111’s computerised system to record and manage calls.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to NHS policies.
Important Information
- Office‑based position in Milton Keynes – remote or home working is not available.
- Not eligible for visa sponsorship.
- Fixed part‑time rotas are available based on current service needs.
- New team members welcome for training courses in January and February 2026.
Compensation
- Base hourly rate: £12.75.
- All day Saturday (midnight‑midnight) or any weekday 8 pm‑6 am – time plus 35% (£17.26 per hour).
- All day Sunday and public holidays (midnight‑midnight) – time plus 69% (£21.61 per hour).
- Salary: £24,937 – £26,598 per annum pro‑rata.

Eligibility & Qualifications
- Good all‑round education (e.g., 2 GCSEs grade 4+ including English) or equivalent experience.
- Aged over 18 (safeguarding).
- Experience in customer or patient services.
