You will be at the heart of the surgery, delivering excellent patient care and customer service while supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the practice. This is a varied role that combines reception, care navigation, appointments management and administrative duties. Woodview Medical Centre is seeking two full-time enthusiastic and reliable receptionists/care navigators to join our friendly, fast-paced GP practice. We would also consider part time/job share so please apply stating the hours you are available to work.
Responsibilities
- Greeting patients and visitors to the practice
- Answering and directing telephone calls
- Care navigating and signposting to the relevant team member and making appointments
- Answering patient queries both over the telephone and face to face
- Ensuring same day appointments are booked into appropriate slots in line with practice procedures
- Checking emails on a daily basis
- A variety of admin duties
The role requires flexibility, with shifts available Monday to Friday between 08:00 and 18:30, and participation in a Saturday morning rota when required (i.e. for flu clinics). We are looking for someone who is calm under pressure, enjoys working with people, and thrives in a busy environment.
Essential Requirements
- Experience working with the general public and in an administrative or receptionist role
- Excellent communication skills with a clear, polite telephone manner
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and Outlook
- Good organisation and time-management skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Professional, cheerful and empathetic approach, particularly in sensitive situations
- Flexibility, motivation and a forward-thinking mindset
- A Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check will be required for this role
Desirable Requirements
- Experience working in a healthcare setting
- Knowledge of SystmOne
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
- AMSPAR Receptionist qualification or NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care
