A long established manufacturer of personal care products has partnered with Woodstock Recruitment to assist in the hire of a new R&D Lab technician to their team. Joining an existing, long serving and collaborative team of chemists and technicians, you will join the business, bringing with you a relevant qualification in cosmetic science or chemistry and/or some experience within the cosmetic and personal care manufacturing industry. Key responsibilities: Assist the Development Chemists with the formulation of products in line with concept briefs. Manufacture of cosmetic products in the laboratory Process customer sample requests Conduct benchmark tear-ups using analytical techniques Conduct sufficient stability work so that product quality is guaranteed throughout the shelf life, including product and packaging stability Investigate manufacturing, stability and preservation issues through experimental testing To assist with development administration tasks, ensuring key records are kept up to date and accurate Calibration of laboratory equipment Sampling and ordering of raw materials ensuring sufficient stock is available throughout the development process Monitor stocks of laboratory consumables and raise the relevant orders as required Assist and participate in the technology transfer from laboratory scale to full production when required Skills and experience: A good level of education at GCSE level or above, ideally in chemistry/sciences Ideally a cosmetic science related qualification Ideally some experience in a lab setting within the cosmetic, personal care or homecare manufacturing industries. On this occasion, applicants will need to have the right to live and work in the UK unrestricted on a permanent basis, without the need for sponsorship from an employer
