Are you a skilled formulation chemist with experience in the homecare, personal care, fragrance or industrial chemicals sector? Do you like working in small, collaborative R&D teams? Fancy yourself formulating new kitchen, bathroom and laundry care products? Then step right up!
What you'll do:
- Develop and optimise formulations for new and existing products across relevant categories (NPD & EPD).
- Own your own formulation projects from concept through to commercialisation.
- Conduct lab-based formulation, benchmarking, and performance testing.
- Perform stability testing and evaluate product integrity under various conditions.
- Interpret and apply SDS, COSHH, and risk assessments to ensure safe laboratory practice.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation and regulatory frameworks (e.g., REACH, CLP, BPR).
- Liaise with suppliers to investigate and source innovative raw materials, technologies, and formulation trends.
- Collaborate effectively with production, quality, and other departments during scale-up and launch.
- Analyse data using advanced statistical tools, primarily in Excel, to inform formulation decisions.
- Attend industry seminars, webinars, and training to stay up to date with regulatory changes and emerging technologies.
What you'll need:
- A chemistry degree or higher in a closely related subject area.
- Some formulation experience through an internship or ideally post graduation within homecare, personal care, industrial chemicals or fragrances.
- Knowledge of SDS, COSHH, and risk assessments.
- Be organised and have good attention to detail.
- Great teamwork, interpersonal and communication skills.
