A leading manufacturer of cleaning and hygiene products have partnered with Woodstock Recruitment to support them in the search for their next Manufacturing Manager. Joining a business with solid ethics and values and an ambitious growth plan, you will be joining an established team and will bring previous chemical or FMCG manufacturing experience with you.
What you will do:
- Lead and manage day-to-day manufacturing activities to meet production targets.
- Identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma or similar methodologies to enhance efficiency, reduce costs and improve service levels.
- Monitor KPI’s to ensure performance expectations and strategic goals are aligned.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimise production and logistics operations.
- Champion the adoption of new technologies and innovative practices that enhance operations.
- Lead initiatives to optimise processes, reduce waste, and increase productivity across all areas of responsibility.
- Analyse workflows and identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency gains.
- Develop and maintain SOP’s, machine settings and manufacturing process documentation.
Leadership and Team Development:
- Provide leadership and direction to the Production, Maintenance and Health & Safety Manager.
- Promote a collaborative and accountability work environment.
- Develop and mentor the production team by identifying potential and facilitating necessary training opportunities for that potential to be realised and performance to be improved.
Health, Safety, and Compliance:
- Ensure compliance and safety standards are at the highest level, ensuring the safety, and health of employees are paramount across all operations.
- Ensure effective training strategies are in place and carried out.
Resources:
- Ensure the production team is fully resourced, overseeing recruitment and induction processes in conjunction with HR as and when required.
- Monitor resources and implement strategies to optimise efficiency.
- Serve as the key point of contact between operations, health and safety and senior management.
Reporting and Budgeting:
- Implement and track KPI’s such as OEE, scrap rates and throughput reporting regularly to the COO with data analysis and suggestions for improvement.
- Ensure cost-effective management of operations without compromising quality or service.
- Input into budgeting, monitoring costs and identifying opportunities for savings.
- Participate in crisis management, product recall, and incident response activities as and when required.
