The Role: This is a strategic and hands-on role - as our Senior Marketing Manager, you will lead on Woodstock's marketing strategy, build the channel and content engine that puts us in front of the right clients and lawyers, helping establish Woodstock as the most compelling home for consultant lawyers in the UK and trusted legal brand for clients. You will work closely with the VP of Marketing, manage two marketing executives, and have the freedom and backing to build a marketing programme that genuinely moves the needle.
What You Will Do:
- Build the content and thought leadership engine
- Own the content strategy, using Woodstock's consultants as the primary vehicle to demonstrate the calibre of the firm to both prospective lawyers and clients
- Design flagship content moments: industry reports, whitepapers, webinars, podcasts and video series that establish Woodstock as a leading voice in the market
- Identify and work with Woodstock's best consultants and external experts to create content that builds the firm's reputation and showcases its expertise across practice areas
- Turn Woodstock's key spokespeople into recognised thought leaders within the legal community
- Find opportunities for Woodstock voices to appear on external platforms, publications and channels
- Build the content repurposing system that maximises the reach and lifespan of every piece of content
- Define and own Woodstock's brand voice, tone and messaging across all channels
- Work with the Lawhive ‘Creative Studio’ to evolve the Woodstock brand for national scale
- Develop practice area specific messaging that builds credibility across commercial law, property and other disciplines
- Ensure brand consistency across the marketing team and wider business
- Drive awareness and acquisition across core client and consultant audiences
- Own the content and creative strategy that builds brand awareness and drives inbound interest from both prospective consultant lawyers and clients
- Develop and evolve the consultant recruitment journey on the website, including landing pages, case studies and downloadable assets
- Work with our paid media team on campaign creative and messaging to drive inbound lawyer enquiries
- Build deep audience understanding of both consultant lawyers and prospective clients to inform every content and brand decision
- Create collateral and campaign support that helps the sales team recruit consultant lawyers
- Develop practice area specific materials that position Woodstock credibly across different legal disciplines
- Support the BD Lead with content and brand materials that help consultants win more client work
- Partner with the Landlord and Tenant in-house team to create content, collateral and thought leadership that supports their business development activity
- Provide branded materials and creative support to the Community function
- Own Woodstock's reputation strategy including review generation, legal directory submissions and PR
- Manage media and press opportunities for the firm and its consultants
- Lead award submissions across relevant legal and industry bodies
- Manage and develop two marketing executives, providing clear direction and support
- Build a team culture focused on outcomes and audience understanding rather than process and output
What You'll Bring:
- You have previous experience in the legal sector (or professional services)
- You have proven experience building a content and thought leadership programme in a B2B or professional services context
- You have strong brand instincts and can translate strategy into compelling content and creative
- You are comfortable producing or overseeing a range of formats including video, webinars, podcasts and long form content
- You understand how to build an audience, not just publish content
- You have experience marketing to both B2B and B2C audiences
- You are a hands-on operator who can also think strategically
- You thrive in fast moving, scaling businesses where you build as well as manage
- You have experience managing a team
