Key Responsibilities

  • Support the planning team with day-to-day transport operations.
  • Assist with the scheduling and coordination of vehicles, routes and deliveries.
  • Communicate with drivers regarding collections, deliveries and operational updates.
  • Accurately input and update information within the Transport Management System (TMS).
  • Assist with customer queries and provide updates regarding deliveries and collections.
  • Monitor emails, transport systems and operational reports throughout the day.
  • Support the team in ensuring all transport activities are completed in line with company procedures and relevant legislation.
  • Assist with maintaining accurate operational records and documentation.
  • Work collaboratively with operational, customer service and warehouse teams.
  • Participate in training and development activities as part of the apprenticeship/trainee programme.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and general operational duties as required.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders across all divisions.
  • Operate in line with organisational policies, procedures and IT governance standards.
  • Contribute positively to team objectives and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties aligned to the role, as required.

What You’ll Need

  • Previous experience in an office, customer service or operational environment.
  • GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Maths.
  • Understanding of transport operations or logistics environments.
  • Willingness to learn new skills, gain experience and develop within the role.
  • Ability to communicate confidently and respectfully with colleagues, customers and drivers.
  • Ability to manage time effectively, follow instructions and approach tasks in an organised manner.
  • Ability to work well with others and contribute positively as part of a team environment.
  • Demonstrates a proactive approach, asks questions and shows willingness to learn.
  • Takes care to complete tasks accurately and demonstrates pride in their work.
