Operating a dedicated fleet of car transporters, we provide vehicle movement services for manufacturers, dealerships, leasing companies, fleet operators and auction houses.

What are we looking for?
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Class 2 Driver and car enthusiast to join our specialist Motorfreight division at Thorne, operating throughout Great Britain.
We also welcome applications from Class 2 drivers who are keen to progress to Class 1, with Company support available, as well as newly qualified Class 1 drivers looking to gain valuable experience
Pay & Earning Potential
We offer a competitive pay package, with enhanced rates for overtime, weekend and public holiday working.
- Basic Rate (up to 50 hours per week): £16.37 per hour
- Monday
- Friday Overtime: £17.57 per hour
- Saturday: £21.11 per hour
- Sunday & Public Holidays: £21.11 per hour
- Night Away Allowance: £28.00 per night
- Job Role and Responsibilities
- Safely and professionally operate Class 2 car transporters in line with Company procedures and road transport legislation.
- Safely load, secure, transport and unload customer vehicles using specialist transporter equipment.
- Complete vehicle condition checks, reporting any damage or concerns accurately.
- Deliver vehicles on time and provide a professional customer handover, including an explanation of key controls and features where required.
- Accurately complete all required collection and delivery documentation using Company electronic systems.
- Where appropriately licensed, provide Class 1 driving cover when required, paid at the applicable Class 1 rate.
Essential Criteria
- HGV Class 2 (Category C) licence.
- Valid Driver CPC qualification card and Digital Tachograph Card.
- Ability to demonstrate a safe and professional standard of driving.
- No more than 6 penalty points on your driving licence.
- Good working knowledge of Drivers Hours and Working Time Directive regulations.
- Right to work in the UK.
Desirable Criteria
- Previous experience within the automotive or vehicle transport industry.
- Class 1 (Category C+E) licence would be advantageous, with the flexibility to provide Class 1 cover where required.
- An interest in progressing from Class 2 to Class 1, with Company support available for suitable candidates.
- Training
Full training on transporter equipment and all aspects of the role will be provided on a one-to-one basis with one of our experienced Driver Trainers.
