Role overview: Reporting to the QSHE Manager this role supports the Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental standards across the Group. You will liaise with directors, managers and staff providing an advisory service to ensure compliance to all. The successful applicant will be self-motivated with the ability to identify new opportunities, have the ability to prioritise workload and demonstrate excellent attention to detail. They will be familiar with HSQE management procedures with excellent analytical, report writing and presentation skills.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Support the QSHE Manager, Group Companies & Departments in the review and creation of quality, health and safety and environment documentation, such as policies, operating and safety procedures, risk assessments, COSHH assessments and environmental aspects and impacts.
- Conduct QSHE audits, prepare detailed reports and recommend improvements to enhance compliance.
- Organise and deliver QSHE Inductions.
- Identify and evaluate potential hazards and develop strategies to mitigate risks.
- Assist with the provision of QSHE, security and product safety awareness programmes to staff through various campaigns.
- Deal with QSHE enquiries from internal and external sources.
- Investigate incidents, accidents, safety concerns and near misses to establish root cause, implement corrective / preventative actions.
- Collaborate with various departments to promote a culture of continual improvement and operational excellence.
- Undertake random spot checks across the Group.
- Travel to group locations and customer sites in GB & Ireland as needed.
Essential Criteria:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role.
- Experience working to/with ISO standards (ISO & 45001).
- Working knowledge of current Health and Safety standards & legislation.
- NEBOSH Certificate, Environmental Health degree or equivalent.
Desirable Criteria:
- ISO internal auditor qualification.
- Knowledge of BRC Global Standards or Food Safety Standards.
Whilst the desirable criteria above would be advantageous, candidates that are actively working towards or willing to work towards achievement of the qualifications mentioned will be considered.
