Your New Opportunity: As a Trainee Transport Planner, you'll have the opportunity to begin a rewarding career within the transport and logistics industry, developing the knowledge, skills and experience needed to become a successful Transport Planner. Working as part of our busy Haulage operations team, you'll receive structured, hands-on training across all aspects of transport planning, fleet operations and customer service while being supported by experienced colleagues throughout your development.
What This Role Involves:
- Support the Transport Planning team with the day-to-day coordination of transport operations.
- Assist with planning vehicle movements, routes, deliveries and collections to meet customer requirements.
- Communicate with drivers regarding schedules, collections, deliveries and operational updates.
- Accurately input, maintain and update information within the Transport Management System (TMS).
- Assist with customer enquiries and provide timely updates on deliveries and collections.
- Monitor operational systems, emails and reports, escalating issues where appropriate.
- Help maintain accurate transport documentation and operational records in line with company procedures.
- Work collaboratively with Transport Planners, drivers and other departments to support the efficient running of the operation.
- Participate fully in the training programme, developing the knowledge and skills required to become a qualified Transport Planner.
