The organisation is a growth-oriented FMCG business with an established presence across the UK and EMEA. The company is at a critical stage in its digital and marketplace evolution. The Head of E-Commerce (UK & EMEA) will own and lead the regional marketplace strategy, with full accountability for commercial performance, profitability, and long-term growth. The role combines strategic leadership, P&L ownership, senior stakeholder management, and team development. It will define the three-year marketplace roadmap, ensure alignment with global online teams, and act as the senior point of contact for key external partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and deliver the UK & EMEA e-commerce strategy, with marketplaces as the primary growth channel.
  • Hold full P&L responsibility for the leading pan-European marketplace relationship.
  • Provide senior strategic oversight of the Amazon business, ensuring consistency, innovation, and best practice.
  • Lead Joint Business Planning and annual commercial negotiations with key marketplace partners.
  • Identify and assess additional regional marketplace opportunities aligned to growth ambitions.

Performance & Financial Management

  • Deliver annual revenue, spend efficiency, and profitability targets.
  • Develop robust short and long-term commercial plans informed by data, insight, and market dynamics.
  • Ensure disciplined forecasting, performance tracking, and ROI measurement.
  • Optimise trade and media investment to maximise commercial returns.

Executional Excellence

  • Ensure high standards across pricing, promotions, content, media, and digital shelf execution.
  • Champion platform health, content optimisation, SEO, and conversion performance.
  • Drive innovation in online activation and consumer engagement.
  • Ensure strong forecasting, availability, and fulfilment in partnership with supply chain teams.

Leadership & Capability Building

  • Lead, coach, and develop a small specialist e-commerce team.
  • Act as the senior escalation point for complex marketplace and commercial issues.
  • Build e-commerce capability across the wider organisation through knowledge-sharing and best practice.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Brand, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Finance to deliver a fully aligned digital agenda.
  • Partner with regional commercial teams to ensure consistent execution across markets.
  • Maintain strong governance, planning discipline, and communication at senior leadership level.

Essential Experience

  • Senior e-commerce or digital account leadership experience.
  • Proven track record managing major online marketplaces (Amazon and comparable vendor-led platforms).
  • Demonstrated P&L ownership, Joint Business Planning, and commercial negotiation experience.
  • Strong understanding of Amazon Vendor/Seller Central and similar marketplace operating models.
  • Experience leading cross-functional initiatives across multiple markets.
