We are recruiting a Group Financial Controller for a healthy, growing and market-leading business operating as an independent unit within a multi-billion turnover global parent. This is a key senior finance appointment offering genuine breadth of responsibility, strong visibility to senior leadership and the opportunity to shape and strengthen the finance function within a dynamic and expanding environment.
Reporting directly to the Group Finance Director, with a dotted line to the Managing Director, the Group Financial Controller will take full ownership of the group's financial control, reporting and governance framework. The role will combine hands-on technical delivery with strategic oversight, ensuring the integrity of financial information while supporting commercial decision-making at board level.
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and continually improving the month-end and year-end close processes, delivering accurate and timely consolidated reporting, maintaining robust balance sheet control and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and internal group policies.
In addition to core reporting responsibilities, the Group Financial Controller will oversee budgeting and forecasting cycles, strengthen internal controls, and drive improvements across financial processes and systems to support scalability as the business grows. The role will require close collaboration with operational stakeholders to provide meaningful financial insight, challenge assumptions constructively and ensure that performance reporting supports informed, forward-looking decision making.
There will also be regular engagement with the global parent to ensure alignment with wider group reporting and governance expectations. The position carries direct management responsibility for a small team of part-qualified and qualified finance professionals. Strong leadership capability is essential, including the ability to develop talent, embed accountability, and foster a high-performance culture within a collaborative environment.
The successful candidate will be comfortable operating at both a detailed and strategic level, setting clear standards while remaining approachable and supportive. We are seeking a fully qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA accountant with demonstrable financial control and team leadership experience, ideally gained within a growing or multi-entity environment.
The successful candidate will combine technical strength with commercial awareness, sound judgement and the confidence to operate as a trusted partner to the Group FD and MD. This role offers excellent exposure within a high-performing business that benefits from the backing and stability of a global parent while retaining the agility and influence of an independent operation. It represents a significant opportunity for an ambitious finance leader to make a measurable impact within a well-positioned and expanding organisation.
