We are looking for a Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Engineer (CNC / Toolroom) to join our Colchester site. This is a hands-on, varied role combining mechanical and electrical maintenance.

You will play a key role in keeping our operation running efficiently, ensuring equipment reliability and supporting continuous improvement across the site.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Maintenance & Reliability
    • Deliver planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across plant and equipment.
    • Respond quickly to breakdowns, diagnose faults and implement repairs.
    • Maintain accurate records and support continuous improvement initiatives.
    • Ensure full compliance with health & safety standards at all times.
  • CNC / Toolroom Support
    • Support operation and upkeep of machine tools (lathes, milling, grinders).
    • Assist with machine set-up and adjustments for different production needs.
    • Interpret engineering drawings and CAD data.
    • Produce, modify or repair components where required.
  • Team & Continuous Improvement
    • Work closely with Production, Engineering and external partners.
    • Contribute to problem-solving and root cause analysis.
    • Support 5S, efficiency improvements and best practice standards.

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong mechanical maintenance background (essential).
  • Working knowledge of electrical systems (desirable).
  • Experience in a manufacturing/engineering environment.
  • Fault-finding and problem-solving capability.
  • Exposure to CNC or manual machining/toolroom environments.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings.
