We are looking for a Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Engineer (CNC / Toolroom) to join our Colchester site. This is a hands-on, varied role combining mechanical and electrical maintenance.
You will play a key role in keeping our operation running efficiently, ensuring equipment reliability and supporting continuous improvement across the site.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Maintenance & Reliability
- Deliver planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across plant and equipment.
- Respond quickly to breakdowns, diagnose faults and implement repairs.
- Maintain accurate records and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure full compliance with health & safety standards at all times.
- CNC / Toolroom Support
- Support operation and upkeep of machine tools (lathes, milling, grinders).
- Assist with machine set-up and adjustments for different production needs.
- Interpret engineering drawings and CAD data.
- Produce, modify or repair components where required.
- Team & Continuous Improvement
- Work closely with Production, Engineering and external partners.
- Contribute to problem-solving and root cause analysis.
- Support 5S, efficiency improvements and best practice standards.
What We’re Looking For
- Strong mechanical maintenance background (essential).
- Working knowledge of electrical systems (desirable).
- Experience in a manufacturing/engineering environment.
- Fault-finding and problem-solving capability.
- Exposure to CNC or manual machining/toolroom environments.
- Ability to read engineering drawings.
