What You’ll Be Doing:
- Lead and support a team of residential support workers.
- Be the responsible person during shifts, handling handovers and key decisions.
- Build trusting relationships with children and provide emotional and practical support.
- Encourage education, life skills, and positive behaviours.
- Ensure safeguarding, well-being, and emotional resilience are prioritised.
- Support children through key life transitions, from settling in to moving on.
- Work closely with social workers, therapists, and external agencies to provide the best care.
- Maintain records, write reports, and contribute to care plans.
- Flexible with working 2-on-4-off shifts, including weekends, evenings, and sleep-ins.
What We’re Looking For:
- A passion for transforming the lives of children in care.
- Level 3 Diploma in Children & Young People’s Workforce (or willingness to work towards it).
- Experience in residential childcare (team leadership experience is a plus!).
- Strong understanding of safeguarding, professional boundaries, and trauma-informed care.
- A full UK driver’s licence.
- Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends, evenings, and sleep-ins.
