As the Interim Associate Director of Nursing for Children’s Services, you will be responsible for the strategic leadership and management of the nursing services within our paediatric department. This includes leading the nursing teams to deliver high standards of clinical care, ensuring patient safety, and enhancing the experience for children and families across all paediatric pathways. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams and senior leaders to shape the direction of children’s services and ensure they meet both national and local quality standards. Key Responsibilities: Provide leadership to the Children’s Nursing Directorate, ensuring the delivery of safe, compassionate, and high-quality care for children and young people. Work with senior leaders to develop and implement the Trust’s strategy for children’s services, driving improvements in clinical outcomes and patient experience. Lead and manage nursing teams, ensuring the development of a highly skilled workforce, promoting education, training, and leadership development. Oversee service delivery across paediatric inpatient, outpatient, and community services, ensuring that the highest standards of care are maintained. Ensure the delivery of robust governance frameworks, maintaining patient safety and meeting regulatory and national standards for paediatric services. Collaborate with operational and clinical teams to address key performance targets, patient flow, and service sustainability. Advocate for the needs of children and young people, ensuring that their voices are heard in all aspects of care. Provide expert advice and guidance on clinical and operational issues within the paediatric services. Key Requirements: Registered Nurse with a current NMC registration. Extensive experience in paediatric nursing, with a strong understanding of national children’s healthcare standards and guidelines. Significant experience in a senior leadership role within an acute hospital, ideally with experience in children’s services. Proven ability to lead and develop teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth. In-depth understanding of clinical governance, risk management, and regulatory requirements in children’s services.
