The Cost Engineer will play a pivotal role within the Venture Management Team, overseeing financial planning and cost control for the project. This position requires strong technical expertise in cost estimation, SAP, financial analysis, and reporting. The incumbent will be responsible for managing project budgets, forecasting expenditures, assessing financial risks, and ensuring overall cost efficiency. The role also involves close collaboration with project management teams, licensors, and contractors, particularly in areas such as contracts, change orders, and negotiations.

Responsibilities

  • Cost Estimation & Budgeting: Develop comprehensive cost estimates, budgets, and financial forecasts for large-scale capital projects.
  • Cost Control & Monitoring: Monitor project expenditures, track variances against approved budgets, and implement corrective measures.
  • Financial Analysis: Conduct risk assessments, evaluate contractor cost reports, and provide insights to support decision-making.
  • Reporting: Prepare detailed monthly and ad-hoc cost reports for senior management, ensuring accuracy and transparency.
  • Contract Support: Deliver cost engineering expertise during contract bidding, negotiations, and the review of change orders and claims.
  • Process Improvement: Recommend enhancements to cost engineering methodologies, standards, and best practices to drive efficiency and consistency.

  • SAP knowledge
  • Ideally Licensor/Client experience
  • Experience of working on large projects/Oil and Gas
