At Woodpecker Hall Academy, we are looking for an organised, proactive and customer-focused Attendance & Business Support Officer to play a key role in the smooth running of our academy. You will lead on attendance administration, working closely with pupils, families and staff to promote excellent attendance and punctuality while ensuring statutory processes are managed accurately and efficiently.

Alongside attendance, you will provide high-quality business support across admissions, finance, pupil welfare, reception and general administration. As one of the first points of contact for parents, visitors and stakeholders, you will deliver a professional and welcoming service while supporting safeguarding, compliance and the day-to-day operations of the academy. This is a varied and rewarding role for someone who enjoys working collaboratively, has excellent organisational skills and is committed to making a positive difference to the lives of children and young people.

We are looking for an organised, proactive and professional individual with excellent administrative and communication skills who is passionate about supporting children and young people to achieve excellent attendance and educational outcomes. You will have GCSEs (Grade 4/C or above) in English and Mathematics, along with experience of working in a busy administrative environment. You will be confident communicating with pupils, parents, carers and external stakeholders, including handling sensitive conversations with professionalism and empathy.

The successful candidate will be experienced in using management information systems (MIS) and Microsoft 365 applications to maintain accurate records, analyse data and produce reports. You will be highly organised, able to manage competing priorities and have a strong understanding of safeguarding, GDPR, equality, diversity and inclusion, and health and safety within an educational setting. Knowledge of school attendance processes, attendance codes, Local Authority procedures, and qualifications in business administration, attendance, safeguarding or family support would be advantageous. Above all, you will be committed to delivering an outstanding service, building positive relationships and making a meaningful difference to the lives of our pupils and families.

We are committed to fostering a positive and inclusive working culture that reflects our Trust's ethos of being "Stronger Together". The Trust is committed to promoting equality of opportunity for all. It aims to create a working environment in which all individuals are able to make best use of their skills, free from discrimination or harassment, and in which all decisions are based on merit.
