MIDDAY CARE ASSISTANT

Hourly Rate £13.70

1 x Galley Hill Campus

7.5 hours per week

Working Hours 12 pm to 1.30pm Monday to Friday (term time only)

The Woodlands School is a specialist provision for children and young people with Autism and/or Social Communication Difficulties.

It is essential that the successful candidate is able to communicate clearly to children and young people in a calm and respectful manner, engage with the pupils, be reliable and trustworthy and work within the school's policies, including safeguarding and child protection.

You will be responsible for the safety and well‑being of the children at lunchtime. The role requires care for pupils, helping them to prepare for mealtime, accessing a suitable meal and cleaning up afterwards, supervision of pupils using both the indoor and outdoor play areas after lunch.

Enthusiasm is a requirement for this post, as is a genuine empathy with children and young people. The ability to be flexible, innovative and reliable is highly desirable. The Woodlands School has a successful record of staff development and training including knowledge and understanding of autism for all staff.

School visits are encouraged.
